Anytime is the right time to go to Disney World! (Okay… with the possible exception of the insanity between Christmas and New Years.) But one of the best, most beautiful times is decidedly during the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival season. (this year it runs from March 2nd- May 30th!)
From the front entrance of the park, through Future World, and all around World Showcase, you’ll find wonderful floral and topiary masterpieces on display.
The main display at the entrance to the park changes every year. You can pretty much guarantee though that they will contain some combo of the core Disney characters such as Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto.
Throughout World Showcase, you can find topiaries of well known and loved Disney characters. Look for Pooh and friends in Great Britain, Snow White and some dwarfs in Germany, and Belle and the Beast in France. Sometimes the topiaries come and go, but it’s possible you might also catch sight of Anna and Elsa, Simba and Rafiki, and various Princesses with their Princes. There are also a few topiaries around Future World – sometimes you can see Mater and Lightning McQueen, Buzz Lightyear, and Mike and Sully.
My personal favorite spot is the lagoon area in between Future World and World Showcase. There are floating flowers in the lagoon which is quite cheery. But the real masterpiece are the beds of flowers lining the lagoon. They’re so beautiful and colorful and fun. I love the different patterns and pictures they make which adds a fun whimsy and magic to Epcot. And on a brilliant sunny day, all the colors just pop! It’s a wonderful display and a great time to “stop and smell the roses” – to take a break from the hustle and bustle of Disney World and just enjoy the beauty and the fun and laughter with family and friends.
So, have you been to the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival yet? What characters would you like to see them include in their displays in the future?
