I’m not quite sure where I first saw this beautiful place. (Probably Pinterest, because that’s where we find everything, right?!) However I found it, I fell in love with it instantly. Admont Abbey is a Benedictine monastery in Austria. The Abbey was founded in 1074 by the Archbishop of Salzburg. The building was destroyed by fire in 1865 and rebuilt in the late 1800’s.
Beautiful, isn’t it? But let’s be real – that’s not the real reason I want to visit this Abbey. The real reason? Their library, which happens to be the largest monastic library in the world, is fantastically gorgeous. And it also happens to look like a real-life version of the Beast’s library from the Beauty and the Beast.
I love books and I think I could spend a long, long time in here being very happy indeed.
Yep. It’s pretty much fantabulous. What do you think? Would you want to visit? Could you see yourself spending many happy hours here getting lost in all the beauty of the library and the wonder of the books?
